Photographer's Note

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple at Jalan Tun HS Lee,Pudu, Malaysia. It's built based on south indian architecture.

I met couple of Koreans at the temple, they asked me why all the deities in the temple are having multiple arms, I presumed he's a buddhist, but from the conversation I learned that he's actually an atheist(not most of the koreans are buddihst? There is one buddha who has multiple arms in buddhism I think). I do not have profuse knowledge of indian/tamil gods/goddesses, perhaps somebody on TE can help me to answer :)

Founded in 1873, the Sri Mahamariamman Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur. It is situated at edge of Chinatown in Jalan Bandar (formerly High Street). In 1968, a new structure was built, featuring the ornate 'Raja Gopuram' tower in the style of South Indian temples.

From its inception, the temple provided an important place of worship for early Indian immigrants and is now an important cultural and national heritage.
