Photographer's Note

Still talking about plane and this time is a close up shot of Hibiscus II. Some intro was given in the earlier photo in TE with title Flying Garden.

The are 17 planes in their 747-400 passenger fleet. This plane with registration PapaBravo (PB) joined the fleet in April 1993.

I took this shot last Friday evening on another spotting session. I was alone that day and didn't see other spotters. As in most of the best spotting areas in the world, best place to spot is not inside the airport but outside. 8-)

This place is near Runway 14L and not that easy to access by car. This is really a quiet and secluded place. I drove in thru a small path along the palm oil plantation next to the runway. About 500m from the main road, this is an elevated spot not blocked by the fence.

It was my lucky day to catch Hibiscus II departing in the evening. Lucky in a sense my 70mm-300mm lens is close enough to have this head shot. Took this with the max 300mm focal length on my 300D with 1.6 cropping factor.

For aviation buffs, just sit back and relex to view the beautiful art of ribbons and Hibiscus on the fuselage.

BTW, this shot is good enough to compensate for the scratches I received on my car while driving into this secluded spot.

Thanks for viewing and hope you have a bright and colorful weekends ahead.

Update 7/24/06 : Just added the full view of this plane in the workshop. Thanks.
