Photographer's Note

I have recently returned from a trip to Malaysia. There are many beautiful and also many not so beautiful things to see in this country. But one thing which is beyond argument is the beauty of Malaysia's people. They were friendly, welcoming and very funny. On many occasions I was asked to "take a photo" by young Malaysians, thinking they wanted me to take a photo of their group, but was surprised and a little flattered that they wanted to take a photo of me! Interesting to be on the other end of the lens for once. Malaysia is a cultural melting pot of the Malay (Muslim), the Chinese (Buddhist) and the Indian (Hindu) cultures. And they all manage to live together in peace. Maybe that's something we can all learn from.

These beautiful young girls were at a festival at the Batu Caves on New Years Day. They're lovely, aren't they?
