Photographer's Note
It was a bright lazy afternoon. The sun was scorching hot, the sky was oh so blue it made me all dreamy..
This scenic view is seen right infront of the magnificent Kuching public library (well, the building is not shown in this capture). Never mind the hot sun, my family and i found the lake so beautiful and relaxing..

Hello Fanny,
Lovely scenery ... almost like summer in the Netherlands. Wide color palette. Great exposure. What is that white pointy thing above the tree top? Wonderful composition with good contrast, depth, and the placement of the ducks. My only preference is not to have the background shore & trees to be in the middle but this is still a great capture especially with the ducks to provide balance & foreground interest. Regards. Latiff.

Hi there, Fanny. I would agree with Latiff's comments. Get down lower when taking the shot, to reduce the vertical space occupied by the water and place your horizon closer to the bottom of the shot. Alternatively, crop some of the top of the photo. Also, you could crop out that thing sticking into the image on the left. But it's a nice shot that captures the atmosphere on this sunny day very well, and you positioned the ducks very well in the corner.
Regards,
Andrew

Simple but effective composition. Nice colours too.
You have effectively captured a refreshing scene of Kuching, away from the customary touristy places.
The scene here could well pass as a snapshot of a foreign place, in Europe somewhere... Are you sure this is Kuching? :-)
Excellent.

I agree with all the previous comments about your work here Fanny, as well as the suggestions. You see in photography, it is about trying your very best to depict what is it that make the scene so great/beautiful/attractive about what you are looking at, into a frame. And to not include anything which might distract viewers' attentions, as it can be pretty obvious in a "frame" as opposed to what you are physically seeing, which is wider. Pretty much if you can write it down what you find attention getting, in a certain way you can capture it visually.
Just go on shooting. For photography, it teaches you to look than just seeing.
Regards
Bani
