Photographer's Note

From a small town of Semporna on the east coast of Sabah, you could take a 45mins boat ride to one its offshore islands where there is no clock to tell you the time. No one is in a rush to do anything, apart from fishing leisurely catching just enough for the day's meals. The islanders who lived here are few, perhaps not more than 10, staying in small huts like the one seen here - the only form of vernacular architecture.

The children here may have never seen a book before, needless to say going to a school. You will find toddlers crawling and teenagers strolling on this unspoiled beaches.
