Photographer's Note

It wasn't really that tall, the coconut I shot at in the previous posting. I would say about 12 feet, the height of which Magic Johnson wouldn't have any problem slamdunking or grabbing down the coconut.

This is Tanjung Aru Beach, roughly about 15 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu. In the late afternoon around 4, this beach won't be so lonely or deserted. It would be hives of joggers, tensed mothers, hyperactive children and wannabe swimmers running around or in the waves.

Beside the beach is Prince Phillips Park with manicured hedges, well tendered flower beds and lawn. And as you drive into this beach, you would have multiple stalls and a food court waiting orders while you watch the setting sun.

This photo was taken to test the Sigma 18-125mm DC lens, which was launched last September here. It is designed for digital SLR specifically those with APS-C sized sensor like the Digital Rebel. This lens is a true digital lens and it doesn't has the 1.6x magnification factor. It is a good wide angle/medium zoom lens but you have to get used to the louder focusing sound.
