Photographer's Note

This old woman was returning home, after a hard day of work in the rice fields. I guess that she will be working until her body lets her. She was walking with dificulty, carrying what seems a heavy bag hanged on her head. A closer view can be seen in WS. The chickens seemed to be waiting patiently for her. Men don't work in the fields. They take care of the children and do whatever is needed at home. They also hunt, go fishing and a few ones can work in part times as treking guides. But even our guide said to us that women have the harder work in their villages.

Taken in a treking of two days in the region of Luang Namtha, Northen Laos. This was in the end of the first day, about half an hour of the Lenten vilage, where I spent the night, one of the many ethnic groups that exist in this part of the country.
