Photographer's Note

Part of the contingent of monks and novice monks wait to receive alms at the famous "morning monk" tourist corner in Luang Prabang, Laos.

Well, you have probably seen a thousand photos of the monks on this corner as they make the morning rounds.

I wanted to try something a little different so I converted it to B/W and shot "inside out", rather than from the street side in.

You will need to arise early to see this scene...and you will also contend with other people with cameras in hand. Tour buses actually drop people of across the street...drivers waiting for the folks to snap a few off....and the tourists go on to the next attraction.

You will see these young fellows around town later in the day, or at their temples. Stop in and say hello...they like to practice English, and are interested in the outside world.
