Photographer's Note

There is a tree, the Chinese call Money Tree, that is a plant, but the Buddhists, especially in South East Asia have a money tree which consist of real banknotes. As the Wat Si Muang is famous to be the monastery of love, the custom of offering money to the deceased in their afterlife on a tree is even more elaborate then in other Wats in Laos. This woman is selling real banknotes with flowers attached to them which the devotees will carry inside the temple and hang on the money tree.
