Photographer's Note

The banks of the mighty Mekong River are the most enjoyable spot to take sunsets and a very popular with the local people. In dry season you'll be able to walk to the large sand bars which stretch in different locations in the Vientiane area, the closest one is under the Mekong promenade.

Nice place to sit in the sand and watch the last sun rays. Some fishermen would still try to catch fish and some kids will be still swimming while youngsters and others will be taking a romantic walk in the sand, or you could even actually see Laotians playing soccer on the sand bed!


Here's what I caught with glimpse of Thailand in the distant shore....
