Photographer's Note

Wat Si Muang, the monastery of love as it is called by the locals, in the centre of Vientiane is not just a place of worship but also a bit of a fun fair. Apart from flowers and offerings you can buy here literally everything like this fresh mountain honey in bottles which Hmong women are selling. Collected from wild bees this honey is very liquid, but the taste is fine.

The Hmong is the largest hill tribe in Laos and were supporting the American during the Vietnam war. The Hmong are famous for planting opium but lately also are involved in agriculture.
