Photographer's Note

At the northern end Vang Vieng is the infamous bamboo bride where all the locals learned swimming and jumping. Here the Xong river is not so shallow then elsewhere, in the middle the river is up to 3 metre deep. The rickety bamboo bridge has been build a long time ago. From the mainland on the left it leads to a huge isolated island in the middle of the Xong river. To go there there are only this shaky bridge and rowing boats. Not only pedestrians but also bicycles and motorcycles use it but when the latter crosses the structure is shaking very heavily.
