With all the posting and discussion about Luang Prabang's Wat Xieng Thong I thought I'd way in as well. I was there in 2011 (and staying almost next door) so in between Malgo and Paul and long after Gert.
Malgo mentioned that it was the Red Temple there that Gert was most interested in and I did take photos of the detail of the wall with its beautiful red backed mosaics on the external wall. You can see them from a distance on Malgo's photo that she posted yesterday. So there is this close up of one section and in the workshop is Tree of Life one that was nearby and also just visible in Malgo's photo.
I've also included a photo of one of the smaller buildings in the complex.
I will do a fuller revisit to Luang Prabang some other time.
