Photographer's Note

This is the second photo that I am posting of the Meusser people. The first did not attract 1 comment or critique, although I really liked the photo. But maybe it was more the memory of taking the photo for me.
This was part of a two day trek in Northern Laos. Which was very difficult and at times incredbly difficult. The rains had just started and trekking in tevas was not a good decision. The paths were literally being hacked out of the jungle by our guide Sikham and the leeches were having a feest. I counted over 30 on the first day! But finally we arrived in this remote village, Ban Namkap Neua, one of five Lahu (Meusser) villages in the district, where we took a break and enjoyed snacks prepared by the villagers and water. Having not seen many westerners they were as curious of us as we were of them. From here it was a further 2 hour walk to Ban Nampaman and Ban Nam Noi, two Meusser villages nestled in the hills. Where we ate dinner and rested for the night.
