The Ascension Cathedral is a Russian Orthodox church building in the Kazakh city of Almaty. The cathedral, built between 1904 and 1907, is located in the middle of the 28 Panfilowzy Park and is considered one of the city's landmarks

The trees are framing well the building. The point of view is showing the details of the Ascension cathedral. The light is enhancing the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Achim,
Welcome back, it's good to see new photos from you. An excellent photo of this cathedral. The sky was grey, but the small golden domes, the colourful patterns and the yellow walls brings lots of colour to the image. The building is nicely seen through the trees.

Hello Achim, Excellent presentation of this Almaty Church. Difficult to believe that it is a wooden structure. Nice colours in spite of the rather cloudy day. Lovely composition.
I was in Almaty and I know this cathedral.
