This photograph was taken in Negishi Forest Park in Yokohama in spring of six years ago. The flower of the plum of red or pink had bloomed all over so that inside a garden might show arrival of a spring season. Several sets of family companions were viewing smf enjoying the its blossoms under the tree. Probably, they will be nearby residents. This park serves as the foundation the Yokohama racetrack where was made as first lasting foreign style racetrack in Japan in 1866. It was requisitioned by the U.S. Forces like the other military facilities in 1945 after the end of the war, and was put under management of the U.S. Forces from 1947. The area in racetrack had become a golf course only for the U.S. Forces during requisition. And the requisition of those other than a stand was canceled in 1969, and it was opened wide as Negishi Forest Park after maintenance by Yokohama in 1977. Incidentally, park area is 193,102 m2.
