Photographer's Note
This photograph is taken from the observatory of Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office in summer of six years ago. As a direction, there are Shibuya and Chōfu etc. The large green area which is visible to the left is woods in Meiji-jingu, and a right skyscraper as the saw type is Shinjuku Park Tower by Kenzo Tange's design. When I see from here, it turns out well that the multi-use building is flooding without a crevice. Tokyo is not the town which was made from city planning planned from the first unlike Kyoto city. As for the reason that has relocated new capital to this ground at the Edo period, it seems to consider that this area has vast Kanto plain, and Tokyo Bay and many rivers progress that was convenient for cargo shipment. Although many areas in Tokyo scorched by the air raid under wartime, the postwar confusion term was overcome, and it combined with economic growth and revived. Now, residents who exceeds 13 million people are living in Tokyo. And, it is the center of administration, economy, and culture in Japan, and the metropolitan area gross product of Tokyo is 85,000,000 million yen. The tendency of centralization of power and overconcentration is still accelerating. As for the percentage according to industry of the gross product of Tokyo, tertiary industry exceeds 90%. The single-family dwelling in the opposite side of economic growth continued decreasing, and the former site replaced high rise apartments and commercial establishment. Probably, it is the common fate to the big city in other worlds. Surely, now we are convenient to live by 24-hour convenience store increases or developed transportation network. On the other hand, we are facing few green tracts that it is not healthy in Tokyo. Anyway, probably, Tokyo must change into the open town which can respond to internationalization, solving many inconsistencies. People are living busily and are working in these narrow quarters today also.

Hello Mikio,
This is a very interesting and impressive panorama of central Tokyo with its great mixture of different kinds of rchitecture and the vast parklands. I think the colours could have been somewhat adjusted, so I mad a workshop. I hope you won't mind.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Mikio,
The green-lung park in the middle town, remind the Central-park in NYC. Sight with the surrounding many building is fine under light with good clarity.
Assuming taken through a glassed window, as I see the green tone acted like a filter ( can be easily corrected on Photoscape).
Best regards,
Ike

Howdy Kato,
Interesting Emerald City panorama, revealing Tokyo's immense size continuing from foreground continuing into the far distance.
Creating 'green zones' would certainly help the environment and the People's well being. And planting trees wherever possible is a big bonus.
In the U.S. I am hopeful for increasing creation of renewable energy - solar and wind power.
thanks for sharing,
Cheers,
Ray
