Photographer's Note
A wild mother Macaque (Snow Monkey) tends to her baby near the Onsens (hot springs) in the hills surrounding Yamanouchi Town.
You'll notice that this youngster has his feet all curled up off the ground. They have thick pads on their bums which I'm guessing is much more insulated then their feet.
Interesting fact: Japanese Snow Monkeys are the farthest northerly living primates in the world.
More information can be found here... Japanese Snow Monkeys.
I hope you like the shot,

Nice monkeys, in a very good moment. This is really in the wild, not in a zoo? Great.

Hi Dan,
I really like this shot! This mother looks so into her little baby. I really like how you have captured the two together in this beautiful moment. Wonderful light, great details and good sharpness. Well done!
Greetings,

The focus on the head in the center of the frame and the complementary blurred background makes this a real winning photo in my opinion. Excellent work.
