Photographer's Note
Another Zen garden from Kyoto. Sorry I don't remember the name of the garden. I only remember that I like this garden because it was the first that I saw with fine sand with spectacular shapes and patterns.
I took this photo at the evening in autumn when the sun goes very low, see the shadow of these small dunes.
The sand was very gray and the picture seems like a B&W one, but you can see the bluish sand
Original frame, I adjusted only the contrast.
(If anybody knows the name, please tell me, Thx! Maybe the garden close to Kinkaku-Ji Temple?)

I like the contrasts and the repeated patterns in this photo. I also like the way it is almost black & white.
And yes, it is the garden at Kinkakuji.

Hi
I'm afraid the sand garden is located in Ginkaku-ji and not Kinkaku-ji, the silver pavilion and not the golden pavilion. Nevertheless your picture is a very good composition using well the low light
Hope it helps
