Omotesando - Tokyo.

Omotesando - Tokyo.
some of the pictures shot by Cristian (tomescuc) in Omotesando had caught my eye and I decided to go and see this part of Tokyo for myself last week. unfortunately when I got there most of the good light was gone and taking pictures of people would have been a challenge for my D80, so I had a look at the various buildings in the area. Omotesando is kind of a showcase for modern architecture as well as "the" address for contemporary fashion - some of the most prestigious and trendy designers have their stores here. what you see in the picture is Prada flagship store, a project by Swiss architects Herzog & De Meuron which opened its doors in 2003. it is also one of the most photographed buildings in Omotesando.
as the light was waning, I decided to enhance what was left of the sunlight and focused on the glass panels; I set my camera to an underexposure of 0.7 to get a darker sky (which luckily for me was very blue that day) and after the b/w conversion this is the result I got.
this is also one of the first shots taken with my new 24mm lens, for which I have to thank Francis (housegaijin) - I had the pleasure of meeting him in Tokyo and he gave me some good advice on where to find reliable used photo equipment. I must say that being a lover of prime lenses, I left Tokyo a very happy person that day :)
