Photographer's Note

This is Meiji Shrine Outer Garden in Shinjuku-ku in Tokyo. This is the Western style garden built with the meaning of accomplishing Emperor Meiji's achievements by future generations. It is called the outer garden to the inner garden in Meiji-jingu in Yoyogi. It is the feature that the outer garden makes "Western style" the keynote to Meiji-jingu which is an inner garden making shrine construction the keynote. Moreover, some sport facilities such as an athletic field and baseball fieldas well as ginkgo roadside trees are located at this area. The building with the dome shape seen in the inner/central part is a museum exhibited centering on the pictures describing the political situation of the end-of-Edo-Period and Meiji term related to Emperor Meiji in an art gallery. Anyway, it was pedestrian paradise from 9:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the evening from Aoyama street to an art gallery, since it was Sunday on that day.
