Photographer's Note
This photograph was taken by the Minami(south) Aoyama of Tokyo. This is a narrow alley which is located in one corner facing the Aoyama cemetery, and is in the back hand as the outer garden west. As the time slip was carried out, the old private houses and the individual store are located in a line with the both sides of the alley. And, there was also a parking lot of a small site. A figure was not visible either, although it had been past 2:00 p.m. Probably, this is the place in which it is left by redevelopment and the old residents live quietly. I withdrew from the Aoyama cemetery from here, and went to Roppongi Hills by foot. So, it has various faces though this area is the center of Tokyo.

Hi Mikio,
Monochrome captures the mood of this scene much more than color could.
You have created a really strong composition with great light, excellently framed in horizontal format. Well done.

Hello Mikio,
You have shown us scenes like this before, but I am always fascinated that there still are little alleys like this in huge Tokyo. Although we don't see any persons there are obvious signs that a lot is gong on here. The range of grey tones is very good in this nicely composed photo.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Mikio,
A Very Merry Christmas and a Healthy 2013.
Street view, with a lot depth and perspective, but without people, exactly everyone has taken a break.
Very well composition and good presentation. TFS.
Have a nice evening,
John.

Hello Mikio,
I like very much your walks around the city and the way you capture and present your finds. This is a well composed picture drawing us into the back alley and its desolate -at the moment- atmosphere. The b&w treatment brings forth the details of this quiet place more effectively. Sharpness and lighting are superb. I feel an urgency to follow and explore this alley and I like that your attitude towards the theme is that of a simple observation that is not imposed upon the viewer. I like the workshop pictures too, especially the one from the cemetery. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely week,
Ourania

Hi Mikio
Excellent, you're taking us to wander about this charming and peaceful sight with the small alley leads, the atmosphere and setting clearly depict the oldie taste to it. This is an excellent doc shot which evokes certain memory and nostalgia to some I am pretty sure and well treated in mono. Well done. Congrats.
Superb additional pictures too.
Kind regards

Hello Mikio,
nice the B/W format at the backdrop of the houses with the lot of signs and the electrical wires to create an interesting scenery.
The empty alley with none to walk in it permit us to see all the details of it.
I wish,to you and your family a wonderful, peaceful and prosperous New Year,Danos

Hi Mikio
You know i'm a big fan of Japan, its a country thats very high on my travel list to see.
Seeing these back streets and alleyways show us the real side of the large city ot Tokyo.
I like the signs, the cables, wires, and the monochrome feel to it.
well done
Cheers

Hi Mikio,
So many things Japanese are like poem, even the back streets, which you give space with it's emptiness, the atmosphere that I find more interesting than the new and shiny world we see.
Cheers

I'd love to see this in color vesion, Mikio, but you have the reason to post in B&W.
Fine clear details, "busy" with many details and good DOF.
Huge spider in the WS is a wonder-art-element. Can be posted asd main photo, in my humble opinion.
Best regards,
Ike
