Photographer's Note

I liked the simplicity, yet complexity of this window in a Japanese home of around 300 years ago. This was taken in the Open Air Folk House Museum, Ikuta Ryokuchi, Kawasaki City. Houses are brought here from around the country, and preserved how they originally stood.
I set the Auto White Balance on my EOS 10D to 5500K to ensure I captured the warmth I was feeling from this wall.

(Thanks for the advice Fred, Luko, Viviane and Cedar. Reposting following your comments. I played with curves a little and dropped the brightness by ten and raised the contrast by eight in PhotoShop. I'm not sure whether I prefer this to the original. What are your thoughts?)
