Photographer's Note

I was coming by business to Akihabara after a long time. It is on April 1 and is a day of the beginning of a new fiscal year on that day. A new employee goes into a company and a new student enters a school in school. And the consumption tax also went up from today to 8% for the first time in 17 years from 5%. Its influence comes out in almost items, such as a public utility charge, transportation, life goods, and oil etc. While finishing business and returning to the station, I saw much people who can see as new employees. Men and women wore recruit syuts, their faces seemed to fresh. This photograph is taken the place where three male employees and three female employees are having a pleasant chat long time in the open space in front of a station. They seemed the contemporary new employees of the same company which joined a company this year. The environment which surrounds Japanese society is changing a lot. It seems to it that complicated elements, such as acceleration of low birthrate and longevity, the prolonged deflationary depression, increase of a nonregular employee and competition with overseas countries, are entangled. And, the present company is asking not for the talented people who manage safely the work assigned to the employee but for the talented people who challenge a problem without a reply and get the way by originality and creativity.
