Photographer's Note

This photograph extracts and summarizes some from what was photographed when I went to the Abashiri area in Hokkaido in the late summer of last year. I remember that sunlight is strongly very much and it was fine day on that day. This area is located in the eastern part of Hokkaido, and the major industry is the primary ones of agricultural products such as a potato, an onion, and wheat etc, or a fishing, and the tertiary sector of industry as tourist business. There seems to the world of a different dimension to see the place which has such natural environment for me who have grown up in the city. I got down in Memanbetsu Airport and took a walk the farmland around an airport for about 2 hours. The beet field which pickled the green seedling spread out here and there. In the farm road, I found the locust which is not seen in the city. Although the farmer's figure was seldom seen, I saw occasionally those who are scattering dusting powder in farmland using the agriculral machine or those who are harvesting the onion. When I moves by car from an airport in the city, I saw the wide farmland with loose ups and downs from a window. And, I stopped over Lake Tōfutsu on the way. Here, the plant of Salicornia europaea with red color grew gregariously in the salt marsh.
