Photographer's Note

let me pose a question to everyone who views you think post processing is a good/bad thing? The reason I ask is because my sister was looking at some of my pictures (she has always commented how she likes them) and when I told her that ALL of my keepers go through some form of post processing with some type of program (ps cs3, jasc psp, dxo optics etc.), she kind of said "Ooooooohhhhhh...." like that's the reason they are nice.

I explained that all professionals do the same.....but she didn't seem convinced. Take this picture for instance. I knew what I wanted in terms of composition, but as I was driving while taking the shots, they didn't all come out great. For this shot, I had to rotate, crop, clone out some of my dashboard, sharpen and then really exaggerate with contrast and clarify. The result is more what I envisioned when I snapped away, but quite different from the original.

Is the final image still a result of "my" photographic eye, or just a contrived version?

A question to ponder.....:P
