Photographer's Note
I started the sakura theme in my last post and will continue with one more photo.
This image was taken in Nagoya Castle grounds but these picnics can be spotted everywhere, in every park.
There is no story to go with this one, I just like the overhanging, blossom-laden branches. the lanterns and the atmosphere of joy.
Two more photos from Nagoya in WS showing old and modern architecture.
Like majority of my images from Japan this is a scan from Fuji Velvia 100.

Perhaps a work team bonding, enjoying the day. So nice to understand the moment and share it with friends. We have less of this these day in the US. Still sometimes we respect the natural beauty - the blossom softness, a discussion topic with purpose, living work-life well together. Nice photo - 10 years has now passed. I hope all here still can and will return to enjoy each day - tradition. drt100 David

Hi Kasia
Glorious springtime and very lush pinkish sakura! Sense of peacefulness and presence of relaxing pinickers make everything sparkle and extremely refreshing to look. I think at times we simply need to look at nature around us and I just can imagine my inner feeling when we are presented such a scene in the mids of nature beauty like this. Top marks for spotting this and Tx to your additional pics and good scan job, Congrats
Best regards

Hello Kasia,
To me, sometimes, "nothing special" is the best compliment a photo can get. A glimpse of some kind of human activity, preferably in an interesting environment - what could be better? This is nice, even partly beautiful, and the photo is well balanced. The WS photos are interesting for showing the enormous contrasts of architectural styles in the city, but less exciting strictly photo wise. I guess I didn't realize before that these photos are scanned, but that explains why the quality is not entirely comparable to your more recent photos.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Kasia,
It seems a men picnic, with only men.
Nice picture with good colours of the blossoms.
Your picture are again wonderful to look at.
Composition and presentation are superb.

Bonjour Kasia,
En plus du plaisir de voir les gens pique niquer on a aussi le grand bonheur de profiter des cerisiers en fleurs. C'est un grand plaisir.
Amicalement

HI Kasia,a very original way to show something from the cherries season with the people sitting on the grass under the tree. The flowers are a bit overexposed, but the sharpness is very good. 2 useful WS showing different and very original architechtures in a perfect way. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Kasia,
As Gert noted, nothing special can be a real compliment. In this case the cropping is also very remarkable with the colourful tree in the upper part of the picture.
Best Wishes,
Gy

Hi dear Kasia
Wow Nagoya Castle, isnt' it? My high school is located near from here, and I was born in Nagoya. So beautifl flow Sakura and typical Japanese life style, "Hanami" are nicely caughten. Velvia-100 was my film before digital era. Very very memoriable shot as me, thanks for your sharing, Kasia.
All the best and have a good day! Takero from Myanmar

Hi Kasia
I was drawn to that Modern architecture in your WS immediately, my eyes popped out :) You were using film? Oh my how times have changed, and I wonder how your photos would be different if you had a digital camera. You probably would have taken so many more. Looking at this scene, it makes me think about how I should do this more often and just enjoy the moment. Its been so long since iv'e done a picnic! pretty scene with the hanging blossoms in pink. Too bad there isn't some funny story to go along with the scene....like perhaps you crashed their party and started eating their food? hahaha
cheers

Hello Kasia,
The overhanging cherry blossom flowers steal the show here but the striped lanterns and the people resting and exchanging information and pleasantries enliven the scene. Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Hello Kasia,
I've visited several castles in Japan but not the one in Nagoya. Honestly, I skipped this city. Perhaps another time ...
The castle photograped at dusk looks wonderful.
They all do but the most beautiful is the one that's also the most famous: the castle of Himeji.
Picnic under the cherry blossoms, what else is more Japanese. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the sakura season. Moreover, you also have a better chance of seeing visitors in kimono.
The beautiful red lantern isn't completely hidden under the branches.
Best regards, Paul

Takie piękne kwitnace drzewa sakura to żadne nothing special, to jest very special. Myslałam, zeby zobaczyć wisnie w Japonii, ale trudno na nie trafić, więc pojechałam zobaczyć czerwieniejące klony (byłam za wcześnie).
Fajna scena w parku. Nowoczesna archiutektura w WS efektowna, ale wolę stary zamek. Warto zaglć do archiwum, ale nowe zdjecia tez miło widzieć.
Pozdrawiam MAłgorzata
