Photographer's Note

This late afternoon capture was taken at Tanjung Tinggi coast at low tide on the northern tip of Belitung Island, a very photogenic not only because of its magnificent beaches and crystal waters but what really makes it standout and unique is the presence of numerous granite boulders. an amazing natural sight I have never seen, made up of various sizes, forms and diverse composition amazingly arranged by nature scattering along the pure white sandy beaches.

Some granite boulders are as huge as 10m high and at a location not far from this spot, a strange granite formation can be seen that resembles a seabird floating on water.

The relatively calm waters rarely give off big and crashing waves ashore and standing on top of one of these sizeable lump allows us to get a wonderful panorama of the open turquoise waters.

The word tourism probably never exists in the local vocab at least for now and hopefully it remains this way..
