Photographer's Note

During the Dutch colonial period Ende was the main location of government. This can be seen is many of the current buildings today. Ende is renowned as the place where the first Indonesian President was put under house arrest for four years. A natural wonder exists just a 1 km from town where vibrant blue stones are washed up on the beach which provides jobs for people in the area as the stones are exported to Japan.
