Choosing clementines, a photo from Bali, Nusa Tenggara

Izzet Keribar's yesterday post lmake me think to this shot I took in Ubud market.
Two areas in this market:
building for tourists in which are saled handycrafts
And another part for food
In this food area two parts again; one at the level of ground and one under, with no light except this one which can go in by the stair from upside.
So, no tourists here, it's dark, dirty, smelling...
However, sometimes in the morning, and only for a moment you can find, if weather is sunny, a wonderfull light.
I was lucky, this morning, light was here, very shortely, but here and a charming local woman was choosing some clementines.
What would you have done ? same as me, taking pictures! here is one...

J'adore thes photos de femmes a Ubud. Voila, dans ce sens je suis "conservateur",...du Musee Entrelec ;o)))
Bon que veux-tu, compare a des cheveaux poussiereux, j'sais pas mais moi: je vote Femmes d'Ubud!
Un grand portrait, beaucoup de sensibilite avec un bokeh des plus subtils.

Good subject for a market shot, and good use of DoF, I wonder if leaving her head less obscured by shifting your PoV a little left would have been better.

You always have an interesting note to add to your photos - and I like that so much because from your notes it's clear that you are very curious and want to explore - and that we can see in your photos.

very poetical photo, fulkl with some sort of intimacy and calm moment.
your composition is great;

The concentration on her face shows that this is serious buisness. I like how the foreground basket gently frames her face without obstruction and you have chosen the perfect DOF here, joel.

Voila on a trouvé la réponse à "Qui a vloé les oranges du marchand", c'est Joel avec la complicté de cette femme.
j'adore la pdc dans cette scène, elle a l'air minutieuse dans le choix des oranges. Je me serai decalé un peu sur la gauche car ce panier lui cahce un peu le visgae.

La photo d'Izzet était splendide et la tienne l'est aussi - j'adore le focus sur le visage de la femme qui ressort fabuleusement nette et toutes les clémentines autour de la vue -le background flouté est superbe -

Hello Joel!
The picture is very nice, I like how did you play with DOF. The moment is well caught, good that you've managed not to capture her attention. But I can't help feeling that I would prefer if the picture was taken from slightly different position - a little bit to the left and with camera turned to the right - so that instead of two layer composition we would get a little bit more 3-d feel, and her face wasn't hidden in any way.

I am always surprised how you manage to get into those dark areas, when every one takes shot at attractive places.. :)) But this wondeful..Especially the way the light is playing on her heaad & face...

Yes Joel, a wonderful light. You captured it very well as usual. The composition and colours are very nice with the right foreground blurred. I like the woman's expression and the way she is grabbing the clementine. Good work, once more.
