Photographer's Note

This is the view of the mighty Gunung Merapi (Merapi volcano) from the temple of Borobudur. Merapi is the mose active volcano on Java and one of the most active in the world. Typically, small eruptions occur every two to three years, and larger ones every 10-15 years or so. Smoke can be seen emerging from the mountain top at least 300 days a year.
