Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone:
I am back from Indonesia. I spent most of my last days in Yogyakarta and I havent been able to shake the nighmares from my head:
Yogyakarta has an oversupply of bekas (bycycle rickshaws) so now everywhere I go I keep seeing short mustached men saying: Miister transport!! Yes!! Ok Mister Beka Yes Miister. The torture is so much that I am, even having nightmares with them.
Someone please helllpppp.

Welcome back, Daniel!
At first I thought it was too dark, but then I could discern the tones better as I looked more. Really a great shot with a unique mood. The inventive tilt helps the composition. Regards,
Hakan

Haaaa, good note Daniel. Hope you had a good trip...other than the rickshaw part.
Good note to explain and convey your feelings of the photo, especially with the tilited horizon, adding a sense of "rickshaw hell". I love the colors in the sunset and the shadow of the rickshaw driving awy from you. Although not the sharpest or best exposed shot, it still really conveys a sense of the nightmare that I think your trying to show.
Nice work.

Hej Daniel,
I think sharing your bad expierences with bekas, like you do with this photo, will help to overcome your nightmares! I hope you had a nice time in Indonesia, apart from the bekas.
I like the light conditions in this view, with a good addition of the headlights. The colours in the sky are pleasing too and I like very much the idea for the tilt here. Good work!

Lars

Salut Daniel,

Bravo !

Wow, this photo could well be from Madura Island. The same thing happens here, with lots of bicycle rickshaws and motorbikes too. Even those flags look very similar. I like the colours of the sunset and the tilt. Well done.

Hi Daniel,
A fascinating shot, with the tilt apropos and perhaps demonstrating the intensity of your rickshaw nightmares...The silhouetted man is well seen, and the headlights behind him really create a sense of tension, all beneath an ethereal pink sky, with muted views of shops on either side. An interesting capture, well conceived. Glad you made it home in one piece...

Hi Daniel!
The tilt works well here and shows well how this kind of transportation works.....Good shot with enough light to see some fine details and nice pink/purple tones in the sky.

Hi Daniel,
back from Indonesia. Would love to see and hear (read) more from this trip. I imagine your nightmare. It's the same in Bali even if they don't have any rickshaws you can't make ten steps without someone asks you about transport.
Nice nightshot with beautiful purple sky.

Hola Daniel,
Gracias.
Un saludo,
Angel.

Hej Daniel.
My thought about the becak in Yogya is, some years ago. ( befor 9-11,terror, etc...) Indonesia had much more tourists so those "small words" poor people invested in those bikes and suddenly the world changed the market vent down and everybody had depts, so when a Tourist apears it could mean more then avarage salary.
Othervise a good early evening shot even if your exif file tells the time somewhere else.
Even I spend some week husling with people in Yogya some time ago

Salut Daniel,
et welcome back !
