Photographer's Note

A market-lady in Yogyakarta, central Java, looking up to see who made that clicking sound she heard a moment earlier, while she was quietly minding her own business, chewing her huge chunk of tobacco. She seemed surprised to find my camera, but I don't remember if she got angry. Probably not.
Anyway, this was 36 years ago, so I should be forgiven, and certainly forgotten. Just like I had forgotten this picture until I found it in my archives recently.
This original b&w photo was scanned from an Ilford FP4 negative. In a workshop is the picture I took a few seconds earlier.
