Photographer's Note
peter-pap.net - This HDR image, showing the active volcanoes Mt.Bromo, Mt.Semeru and others, was made at sunrise. Assembled of 3 differently exposed pictures with Photmatix. The smoking one is Bromo, the tall one in the background is Semeru, also a very active volcano.

Hello Peter,
This is quite classical view, but it is well done.
You HDR post-production is soft : we can not guess that there was such a treatment.
Nice composition, even if I would have like to see it in a panoramic format.

Hello Peter
Wonderful unforgiving landscape of Volcano's, looks almost from the Durasic period of time and one would expect dinosaurs to be walking about. TFS

Hello Peter
well known view but always amazing !!! Very good Job with HDR
I've climbed the Semeru in the background 4 years ago, you would have to try to capture the Ash eruption...!

Are you sure the hdr processing came off right, seems a bit too flat, quite astonished by the dof though, there is definition right till the horizon..
indeed this place is in the volatile quake belt, scary beauty

Low side lighting provide dimension to this photo. Excellent foreground and background layering.

We have seen many photos here on TE of Bromo, but the beautiful light here makes this stunning landscape photo special

Taken a stroll through your galley Peter, found this intriguing and attractive picture. Volcano's land.
Amazing to see 4 or 5 cones, some are puffing smoke, but all in a relative small area on the island.
Light made the contourlines enhanced and evident.
Bravo for that impressive sight.
