Photographer's Note

A zoomed shot overlooking the 'sea of black lava sands' with the crowd had gathered early before sunrise, some leaving while other about to climb Mt Bromo. An active volcano lying at the centre of Tengger Massif, 2390m asl. A spectacular volcanic landscape and one of the most recognizable natural landmarks of Indonesia. The hike to the peak usually takes about two hours then continue straight on to the crater rim to see the famed volcano itself. You can see some of those 'ants' scaling up the rugged ridge which suggests the massiveness at full size - a reminiscent of a moonscape

The thrill, the adventure, the danger, the fear of the unknown, the curiosity all of these words describe the adventure of hiking to Mt Bromo. Its a picturesque scene without much exaggeration that leaves many awe-struck....
