About Jakarta city,
Jakarta (also DKI Jakarta) is the capital and largest city of Indonesia. It also has a greater population than any other city in Southeast Asia. It was formerly known as Sunda Kelapa (397-1527), Jayakarta (1527-1619), Batavia (1619-1942) and Djakarta (1942-1972). Located on the northwest coast of Java, it has an area of 750.28 km (289.7 sq mi) and a population of 8,489,910 (2008). Jakarta is the country's of economic, cultural and political center. Jakarta currently is the twelfth largest city in the world. Its metropolitan area, Jabodetabek, contains more than 23 million people.

Jakarta is located on the northwestern coast of Java Island, at the mouth of Ciliwung river on Jakarta bay, there are about 13 rivers flowing through Jakarta, mostly flowing from the hilly southern part of the city northwards towards the Jave sea. The thousand islands, which is apart of the administrative region of Jakarta, is located in the Jakarta Bay, these 105 islands are located 45 km (28 mi) on the north part of the city. This picture was taken in the morning, from 5th floor parking lot, Grand Indonesia Central Jakarta. The tallest building in this picture is BNI46 tower the second highest building in Jakarta with 50 floors, standing approach at 250m / 820ft.
