Hi Animesh,

Beautiful shot once more, you seem to once again captured a story on to your lens.The boats in the b/g add just the right elements without distracting. The expression is priceless..the B&W adds to the atmosphere.

Man... that is so beautiful in such a classic way, the spirit of photography is hovering above this picture, did you feel Oskar Barnack and HCB breathing in your ear when you depressed the shutter?

The rendition is soooo cron'esque. No other lens is close to this.

Hi Animesh, this is beautiful, really no other words towards this genius photogrpahy, i love it
Everything is well placed in the frame, BW is perfect with high quality of grey tones ... and the tilt is the must here.
Congratulations ... this picture talks to me better than the previous one that i liked too

I like the tilt that gives a dynamic look to this shot. The girls are cute with a mature look on their faces and postures - they'll soon be teenager and seem to be ready for that. The sharpness and the exposure are amazing, too. Congrats.

Very strange with the waterline, it looks deep water in the back and the girl is just standing there on the pavement, where does the deep starts ?? I like the tilt and the blurred background, again a fantastic shot !!

Dear Animesh,
I remember the first photos I've seen from you. They were taken during some rainy nights. And I was amazed by the beauty and the soul that were emanating from them. And here, in a completely different country, you are able - again - to give the best of rainy days (or nights).
Many have already told you the good points in this photo. I would add that I am amazed by its 'texture'. I don't know if it is because of the Leica + Summicron, or your right processing. But there is definitively a quality in those textures, not only the skin of the girls, but look at the umbrella! And even the water. I don't know how to express it...
I was not sure about the top right part. Should that have been cropped or not? I'm still not sure. But somehow, it helps to "close" the frame, like an echo of the bottom left triangle.
Your California rainy night photos have inspired me. Lets hope your India one will do that also! :)

This is very very nice, very strong at the same time, a true life moment caucht aat the exact right moment. I love the position, I love the umbrella. The tilt is a nice artifice to make it even more powerful.

Now I wonder. I can tell straight away when a photo was taken by a Leica M and TRI-X. These photos just stand out. Is it the camera, the film, or the skills of the photographer, or all of that?
The grown-up attitude of the kids is sweet.

When I see your pictures, especially your last ones from Kolkata, I get a feeling that's difficult to express. The two girls, conversing, the umbrella bold & eye catching in the background of monsoon dull grey. Here the tilt is not just for the heck of it, but it really works...I cannot pinpoint why. Very very beautiful shot, almost a poetry.

Regarding your earlier shot "Rain in the City", which is equally delectable, I somehow liked the bottom right shot in the scrapbook, where the taxi driver expectantly looks out for his 'prey' in the rain. Also I thought I just mention that what you said as the Playboy logo in your thread with Subir is actually the sign of two fingers and the fist, 'Pure for Sure' logo of Hindustan Petroleum

yes, I have nothing more to add. It's simply beautiful. Your new pictures are stunning, all of them. Your pictures of rural Bengal have a certain grace that is singularly yours. You have many great pictures from all over the world in your portfolio, but these pictures soar above all of them and shows how a deep sense of connection with a place and its cultural ethos take a shot from a 'great picture' to a 'glorious picture'.

PS: I will take the opportunity to ask about some technical question about composition. How and when does tilt work? Are there some compositional rules for deciding when to use them or not?
