Photographer's Note

The Ghats of Varanasi are usually witness to a flurry of activities from dawn till late evening, until the Sandhya Aarti gets over. But at times it also offers serene photo opportunities like this. A pair of Common Indian Myna better known as Shalik, feed on grains scattererd by pilgrims, as the sun rises across the River Ganga. A pair of shoes left behind on the steps of the Ghat by a bather is the silent spectator to this seemingly daily life routine. Probably nothing very special in this picture but I wanted to show you the contrast that the Ghats offer as against the buzz of early morning activity of my previous post.
