Photographer's Note
Tracing its origins to the Natya Shastra, an ancient treatise on classical Indian dance, written by sage Bharatha, Bharatha Natyam is a highly traditional and stylised South Indian dance form. Earlier known as “Dasi Attam” or “Sadir”, it was practiced by Devadasis of the South Indian temples.
It went into disrepute in the middle ages due to prevalent social conditions. The renaissance of the art form was possible mainly due to the efforts of luminaries such as E. Krishna Iyer, T. Balasaraswati, Kumbakonam K. Bhanumati and Rukmini Devi Arundale among others in the early decades of the last century. Currently the dance form enjoys world wide popularity and appreciation.
The currently posted photograph is from a theme based performance “Nava Vidha Bhakthi” or “Nine Ways of Worship”. It depicts worship through meditation.

Nice moment...
With a soft focus...
I would have felt little confused if the focus was with one person, difficult to judge...
Lighting is well managed.
Cheers,
Prem.

I like reading your note together watching the picture with a fine colored atmosphere, colors are to the point well balanced, contrasts in light and shadow like we would see it for real, missing only a bit sharpening to make the two dancers stand out, staying a bit too in soft focus while my eyes still want to see more detail, my reflections to this enjoyable shot.
PS fine to see someone from Chennai, way behind with about 300 photos from there compared to Madurai :)).

Hi Guru,
I like pictures with low light and that's the one to explain my taste. Good colors and contrast. Well done!

Hi Guru,
This appeared in random and I couldn't resist the balance and harmony of this composition. The light is also amazing the way it comes through the floor and shows only a black BG behind.
