Photographer's Note
Along the shore of Fort Kochi river, Chinese fishnets are a common view, (and a tourist attraction), but all sorts of fishing techniques are employed to catch the few fish left.
This man is mending a fishing net, vital for these people daily bread.

Hello André,
A beautiful photograph of this fisherman repairing his nets in which we see his close concentration and a;sp a wonderful connection between his line of sight and the coarse needle which he is holding.
The light is beautiful and you have made the very most of it, especially as it falls on his face and also the nets which have a beautiful softness to them. Lovely true colours, fine composition and exceptional details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello André
A live scene with te fisherman in his wodden boat pushing the net with his toes in order to repair it before fishing. taken at the ideal moment, with his needle in his hand. The small DOF let us guess the other persons on a wharf.
Cheers

Hi Andre,
It's a very nice capture of man mending a fishing net. You are a master on portrait all kinds from every corner the world. That's one of the reasons you're deserved to be admired.

Hi Andre
You created a compelling daily life image. I like the timing with the man's hand captured in its monotonous up and down movement. As a viewer I feel drawn into the scene to become, for a brief moment, a part of that distant culture.
Thanks for sharing

Hello Andre,
Never a dull picture in your gallery, I wish I have all the time in the world to see all of them, including those in your archive :) Too bad you're so far away, as far as anyone can be, on the opposite side of the planet.
This is a compelling shot not just because it is a tourist attraction town but a daily life image of people doing their everyday activities. Oh I do wonderful how many fishes are still available in the river with so many fishing net I see around here.

André
Un cadrage très bien pensé avec le choix des pieds et des filets en premier plan. Les pêcheurs en arrière-plan sont également bien placés dans l'image. Du très beau travail.....comme toujours!

Ciao dear Andre
This is - like so many of your photos - one which I particularly covet. It's fantastic. The skin tones and definition make it look like something straight out of a film. What is so specially compelling is that this fisherman is practising something that had probably been handed down to him by generations previous. It's a very intimate, in your face kind of photo. You're so brave approaching people and gaining their trust so completely in order to get your magnificent people photos.
Thanks for sharing. We're still in shock and in mourning today here in Australia over an environmental decision that will destroy our Great Barrier Reef. What - another - sad day.
Bonne amities
Lisa
