Photographer's Note

Through an elaborate gateway, and down the gentle, wide steps, one gains an initial view of the Gumbaz to the south It is about 2.5 to 3 kms by road southeast of the Daria Daulat (wealth of the sea) Bagh, and was built by Tipu to honour his father, Haider Ali, in 1784 CE. Later it served as his own resting place, along with his mother and father. The avenue to the mausoleum is lined with cypress trees.
