Photographer's Note

The Anoop Talao (Peerless Pool) is situated in the mardana about 100 metres southeast of the Diwan-i-Khas. It shares similar characteristics to the dais in the latter, with four bridges furnishing access. The main difference is that this platform is square instead of round. The tank approximates 30 metres on each side. To the left in the photograph, the upper levels of the Panch Mahal pierce the bright sky. 2004/2005 had not been a good year for rainfall in northern India. Consequently, everywhere water levels were down. I thoughtfully cleaned up some of the rubbish evident in the water. :-)
