Photographer's Note

Here's a piece of the famous Lake Palace in Udaipur taken from the Maharadja's city palace. The lake in Udaipur is almost dry because of important water issues in the region. I was lucky to catch a rest of this year's monsoon in there. Some years it has been totally dry.

The Lake Palace was also the setting for scenes of the James Bond Movie "Octopussy" with Roger Moore!

Quel beau palace face à ce lac. Mais pas trop de moustiques ?

Hi Leonie

I like the pastel colors here, and the large part accorded to the aquaticscape around the palace. The tiny boat with its white roof looks like a small piece fallen from a big layer cake (the palace). Well done.

Hi Leonie, I hadn't noticed your return (not being so frequent a visitor myself these days). Just had a look through your India portfolio, and I think I like this latest one as much as any, rather novel framing for a famous landmark. Funny I remember you buying that camera, and what a difference it made to your output, but It's really quite a time ago now.

Un superbe pdv sur ce panorama, bonne composition avec la barque et les reflets ... que l'on aimerait voir un peu plus en bas mais je suppose qu'il y avait des éléments peu photogéniques qui ont guidé ce cadrage un peu juste en bas.

Oh yes, you know I love this one, Léonie. It's a gorgeous romantic place that unfortunately I didn't manage to visit. I think you had little space at the bottom but it doesn't matter because I like the view of the surroundings on top. And the excellent inclusion of the boat at left of course.

ich nutze meine Mittagspause um das Versäumte nachzuholen... Du hast mittlerweile ein paar tolle Fotos präsentiert. Hier ist das Licht, das Gebäude und auch der Teil des Sees optimal gewählt. Super !

C'est magnifique ce palais totalement isolé dans l'eau et la nature. Des couleurs douces et de belles ombres sur le blanc des murs. Très joli aussi ce petit bateau avec un dais assorti au château!

i remember that movie, of course.
the monsoon effect gives that "floating" effect to the white building. you were lucky to be there on time for this frame.
