Photographer's Note
When I arrived at the Thar desert near Palodi it was pretty windy and the air was filled with yellow sand dust. I found some women, however, carrying home the water on their head through the wind.

Ciao Lee!
Bella questa donna coloratissima su quel fondo di paesaggio monocromo! Bello il villaggio con il bue, fantastica atmosfera!
Saluti, Nino.

Hi JS,
There is a whole atmosphere to this image that shows us the harsh life out here... the sand whipped up by the wind, the desolate, barren landscape and the few huts scattered here and there as well as the lonely cow all add to this feeling. The lady really stands out against the brown landscape in her colourful dress, and I am always impressed how they carry heavy loads on their heads.
Regards
Wanda

Hi Lee,
Your shot reminds me of a simmilar shot by a renowned doctor on TE, probably from the desert area of India.
How the red colour pops out from the sandy bacground is diefintely the highlight of this majestic shot.

Hi JS,
the colours of this photo and sharpeness are brilliant. We are lucky that you have not hidden your camera in front of the wind and dust... The shot I will remember from todays submissions !
Greetings,

Hi Lee
the way you make the lady pop up and stand out is almost 3D stuff.
Many congratulations

Hi JS.
This is just a great shot. Like the other members who have written about it, I love the two colours and the way they jump out of the dusty, windy background. Great capture with the woman well placed, not concealing the cattle, and the harshness of the village scene behind her conveyed in full. Hope your camera is well sealed against dust.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi JS,
This is an amazing picture: captures most of the background in sepia-like tones, almost as if that belongs in a past moment, and then the vibrant red and silky-green, the woman holding the water pot trying to keep her balance against the wind... superb! TFS
