Holi festival in Pushkar, what crazy day that was! After a couple of hours of color warfare, I've decided to try to wash out the kilos of pink/purple chalk in my burning eyes. Well I've found myself on a rooftop overlooking the main square. After rinsing my eyes, I immediately had to rub them again, because I just couldn't believe what I was seeing: In the middle of the square, a white (nearly) untouched cow!! It took some time til I got my camera out of the 3 plastic bags which I wrapped around it. But the cow didn't seem to be in any rush, well actually they never really are in India.
Photo taken, eyes rinsed, back into the big pink cloud of unknown!!

Hi Stefan,
I had to work out what this was after a closer look - very abstract on first impressions. This is ...madness..fantastic. I love that the cow is such a contrast, above all else. Great work.

cette photo est extraordinaire!
on a vraiment l'impression de voir, respirer, transpirer, entendre même aussi... le rose et la vache blanche est là au milieu tranquille, respectée et imperturbable!
cette fête doit être un moment plus qu'intense!

Fabulous, fabulous photograph. it really looks at first glance at the thumbnail that you have done some serious post-production, but often the most startling shots can have that effect.

I am impressed that you even had your camera with you - many of us would have gone, sod it - even with three layers of plastic.

A very cool photo here...really very nice. At first...I thought...maybe a lot of photo processing or such, but this is really amazing...that a white cow...not one of any other color, happens to be wandering through this blaze of pink and purple. A great capture by you of this striking scene.
