Photographer's Note

Detail of a Temple in the remote site of Kiradu near the actual border of Pakistan at the Thar Desert in Barmer District. Kiradu was a prosperous town during 11th and 12th centuries, the temples were erected in the 11th century, five were dedicated to Shiva and another to Vishnu. The special architectural style is a blend of Marwar and Gujarati style sometimes called "Maru Gurjar". The temples were destroyed at the end of 12th century by the invaders muslims.
