Photographer's Note

I'm glad for my first trip in India to put Karauli on TrekEarth map.

Karauli is a small town in between Agra, Kota and Jaipur that no guidebook mentions, even though it might be one of the hidden gems of Rajasthan.
Great city palace like you would expect from any Rajasthan place, wonderful people so eager to get their portraits taken, lovely market and temples winding down the city palace road, painted blue walls much alike a little Jodhpur.

Also great ex-palace rooms to lodge in...and you know the best thing about the refurnished room I was lodging in, they put at my disposal a whole collection of early 80's Nat Geo, including some of the early efforts of Steve Mc Curry on India. I know of less inspiring influence before preparing to a morning shoot.

Not really the photo I would usually take, but the first rajput turban you come across is like the first girl you meet : you're burning to try. Then I did it twice.
