Photographer's Note
Hawa Mahal, or the "Palace of Winds" was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Its original intention was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below through 953 small windows without being seen. The breeze (hawa) which circulates through these windows gives the palace its name, and keeps it cool even in hot months.

Hi Jorge,
Nice colouring on this shot. It would be tempting to oversaturate this, but the natural terracotta tones are just right here.
I'm due to visit Jaipur myself in March, so it's good to see some of these places on TE like this.
