Photographer's Note

This is Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds, the most famous building in Jaipur and among the most famous in all of India. It was built by order of the local Maharaja at the end of the 18th century.

I should have shown this pink architectural masterpiece in colour, but it so happened that the Kodachrome roll I put in my camera later that day disappeared somewhere on the way from the Kodak lab in Stockholm to my letter box. Maybe it was delivered to a neighbour who threw it away. In any case it was never located and the pitiful amount I was awarded in compensation by the postal company was no real compensation for the loss of 36 photos from Jaipur, Delhi and Kashmir.

There is a vertically shaped photo in the WS. I couldn't make up my mind which version to use as the main upload, so I advice you to look at both of them. They were scanned from Ilford FP5 B&W negatives.
