Today's image of a familiar setting and has been captured and uploaded by many members, but I thought I would chance my arm at upload of my own version and variants. Taken on a late afternoon.

Hawa Mahal or 'Palace Of The Winds' in Jaipur was built in the 17th century as part of City Palace, it was an extension of the women’s chamber. Its purpose was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen in public. It is a five storey high red sandstone structure complete with over 950 windows. The breeze or 'hawa' in Hindi circulates through these windows, giving the palace its name.

The scaffolding up one side somehow has spoiled the normal shot, but there's nothing much you and I can do about it!!

Very nice capture from Jaipur. Quite beautiful and interesting architecrture which is unique for India.
Perfect pov and ligth management as well as sharpness. Interesting and usefull notes.

A fantastic capture of this palace, whose architecture is amazing with its many fine shapes and details. I really like the warm hue of the walls a lot, too, especially in this soft light. The foreground adds a great impression of the busy life in the city.

Quel beau bâtiment. Je regrette un tout petit peu que la branche nous coupe la vue de son sommet. Par contre j'apprécie énormément les mouvement flous de la rue.

The scaffolding is a normal, sometime by old buildings, no no not has spoiled the normal shot.
Real a very fine architecturel picture.

Indeed there are many photos of Hawa Mahal in Jaipur (also mine I think) but it is such an unusual palace that it deserves to be shown many times. Pity for the scaffoldings. Interesting street scenes. Excellent sharpness and colours.
